I’m a big stand-up comedy fan. I love Brian Regan, Jerry Seinfeld, Michael McIntyre (to name a few). I’ve written a fair bit of stand-up comedy material myself, but so far have only ever got up on stage to do it once. I can’t say that it went brilliantly (it was my first time), but I figure I can only get better with practice. I hope to set aside some time to memorize some routines and get some more practice soon. Venue: Open Mic night at Lazy Susans Comedy Den / Shapiros, Brisbane Hotel, Perth.
Two things I learned from this experience:
- The first thing you should do is move the microphone stand so it isn’t in the way of where you need to be standing.
- Try not to walk outside the “spotlight” area.
